High Intensity Bodybuilding Book Will Be Available As E-Book

The upcoming high intensity bodybuilding book will be released as both a paperback and an e-book. The finish line is in sight, and I’m finally happy with the way it’s reading. A big part of the process has been trimming the fat to keep things focused and concise and structuring the book so people can find the information they want quickly and easily.

Anyone who purchases a phone consultation or distance training package between now and the book release (estimated release date 9/14/09) will receive both the paperback and e-book versions free. For the first 30 days after the book is released, anyone who purchases either the paperback or e-book will receive a discount equal to the purchase cost on a phone consultation or distance training package.

In a few weeks I will also be offering an intensive 12-week fat loss program locally which will be available to a limited number of participants and include workout program and diet design. More information will be posted before the end of this month.

Interesting new layout, and good to hear the news on the book. The release date is an awesome choice as well since your footage will be online and streaming September 8th. Perhaps a cool way to intro the book? haha

Ya good stuff though, Ill be the first to order.

Btw…can you change the link to my blog? It’s been thedreamlounge.net for a few months now =)

thanks man, gl with the launch, Ill be sure to review it on my blog

The layout is temporary – I do not like the framework, as it is much different than the standard wordpress framework and has been a huge pain in the ass to work with. The book is the top priority, but the site will also be redesigned soon.

Will update that link, thanks for the heads up.

    Thanks Drew.

As for the theme…hm. I like the categories listed up top, definite plus. The about abstract on the top right is cool as well.

Everything else is probably more of a look and function debate for you.

Drew, as a relative newcomer to weight resistance training (an 8-mo. stint in 2008 and a 3-mo stint so far in 2009), and a newcomer to your site, I’m going to ask something you might have address elsewhere. Are your training methods consistent with the back fitness principles explained by Dr. Stu McGill (Univ. of Waterloo) in his book “Ultimate Back Fitness?” I’ve become enamored of McGill’s claims, such as that traditional ab crunches and “supermans” hurt your back. If you’re unfamiliar with McGill’s work, just google him. The search results should include some embedded videos that demonstrate ab work he considers spine-conserving.

    Jake,

When performed with slow, deliberate, strictly controlled movements, exercises involving spinal flexion and extension can be safe even for people with certain types of back problems. You just have to be very conservative with range and resistance starting out, and progress very gradually, based on how each individual responds. I have trained people with a variety of back problems, including a current client with grade 3 spondylolisthesis, and in most cases low back pain improves with strengthening, and is rarely worsened by resisted flexion and extension exercises provided they are performed correctly.

    Hi Drew,

    Sounds great!

One more question, do you have an idea of what the cost will be for the e-book version? I just want to make sure I have the money set aside so I can purchase as soon as it’s available.

    Thanks,
    Steve

    Steve,

I’m currently planning on setting the e-book price at around $20. More will be announced on the 14th.

how much longer for the book?

  14. October 20th, 2009 at 15:36 | #14

I’m finalizing some chapters and editing others. After that I just have to finish the page layout and it’s ready to go. I’m planning to have it finished within the next few weeks, and hope to have it by the end of the month, depending on how much I can accomplish this weekend.

    Hi Drew,

I’ve recently returned to the HIT protocol from experienting with increased volume training and cycling intensity.

Glad to hear your new book is nearly finished. $20 for the e-book sounds reasonable. I look forward to reading it. By the way, I like the new website layout and training artciles, keep up the good work.

    David
